Stephen Hillier BA, BSc, MSc.

Our Managing Director first became involved with computers in 1980 when he took over the operation of a Digital Equipment PDP 11/34. This computer boasted a whole 256Kb Main Memory, a full 66Mb online disk storage and stood in the middle of an airconditioned room in a 6ft tall cabinet. The computer ran the RSX11M operating system and was used to formulate animal feeds.

Stephen then went on to program computers and spent a number of years as a contract programmer for such companies as IBM, Research Machines, AST Computers, Grand Metropolitan, Thorn EMI, London Stock Exchange. Stephen has programmed in such languages as Fortran, DiBOL, Assembler, C, HTML, PHP on a variety of different projects.

Stephen formed the current business after a spell teaching IT to GCSE level and has in the past examined GCSE papers in IT.

Stephen obtained his first degree with the Open University, studying Chemistry, Biology and Earth Sciences. His second degree was obtained at Writtle College (Essex University) in Agriculture. He obtained his Masters degree in Agricultural Economics at London University (Wye College).

Sandra Hillier BA.

Sandra has been with the Company since it started. She is the key to our operational efficiency by keeping the administrative tasks up to date.

Sandra spent most of her working life in Education. She has a Teacher Training Certificate from Nottingham University and has a BA from the Open University in Sciences.

Richard Hyland BEng.

Richard trained as a Civil Engineer at Southampton University.  After graduation he found work as a web designer and programmer following an interest he found at college.  He has continued to work developing web based systems for a national organisation in London.  He provides us with the expertise to offer and produce web sites and web hosting services as well as writing Windows Applications.

Richard has worked with the following programming languages and developing tools:-

PHP, Perl, C#, Cold Fusion, XML, XSL, ASP, ASP.NET, JSP, HTML, XHTML, SQL, JavaScript, AJAX, VB.NET  as well as being a Certified Macromedia Developer.

Development & Support Team

Aaron Hudson

Aaron joined the company in October 2010. His Key Skills include: Installing and configuring various Microsoft Windows Operating Systems; Troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Operating System; Growing stronger and with more confidence on Linux Operating Systems; Forever growing knowledge about servers; Technical Support.

Aaron is also CompTia A+ qualified and is currently working towards an MTA

Christopher Gooding

Christopher joined the company in September 2009. His Key Skills include: Adobe Photoshop/Gimp; Graphical Design; Javascript; HTML/CSS; PHP; CMS.

Christopher's skills within Website design has been a beneficial asset to Hillier Consultants.

Marc Riding

Marc joined the company in April 2009. His Key Skills include: CS/C#; VB.Net/VB6; LINQ; Unix & Windows Scripting; SQL; UML; HTML/CSS.

Since joining Hillier Consultants Marc's skills with databases had proved to be a very beneficial asset.

Marc now works for us as an external consultant.
